I joined Flycasters several years ago to get in on the casting and fly tying lessons. I used to fly fish as a teenager and was getting back into it as an adult. The programs, seminars, fishouts, and great people have kept me coming back. I'll fish for almost anything especially if it doesn't require being awake before about 10:00 a.m.

I joined San Jose Flycasters in 1997 so that I could learn more about fly fishing. As much as I love to fish I wanted to be more involved.. I fish mainly for trout but enjoy all sorts of fresh water fishing. Whether I catch anything or not, I always find profound enjoyment in the great outdoors. As a member of the Board of Directors I try to find ways to extend our collective hand and encourage our members to have fun and participate in as many club activities as possible.

mike m I joined Flycasters around 3 years ago to become a better flyfisher. The knowledge and lessons have been a tremendous help, although I have a long way to go. I'm looking forward to serving on the Board, and continuing to meet new members and learning much more! I've been fishing since I was around 10 years old, and I am happiest anywhere in the great outdoors, fishing for whatever will bite. As long as it has fins it's ok with me.

I started fly fishing in the 1970's and after moving to Northern California in 1981 I joined Flycasters. Flycasters was instrumental in my development as a fly flinger and I took most every class offered. Now, I fly fish for pretty much everything, from salt to fresh water, from pond to river, and everything in between! Get involved and participate in as many club activities as possible and watch your skills grow along with your friendships.

It's my privilege to be a member of S.J. Flycasters and to be around so many talented members who know how to fish, where to fish and when to fish. I would like to encourage more participation by members in all activities and have them share their knowledge with all.

I've been fly fishing for about 10 years. Working full time as Senior Director of Human Resources at NAMCO BANDAI Games (a video gaming company best known as creator of PacMan) has cut into my fishing time. I hope that during my tenure on the Board I bring a something of value to the club and learn more about fishing.

I joined Flycasters in the summer of 2006. My objective was to upgrade my fly fishing skills, technique and tying skills and gradually modernize my gear, which I am slowly doing. Trout and steelhead are still my preference. As club and board member, I'd like to encourage more interest in fly tying from members or non-members.

I've been fly fishing since the 1970's when as a teenager I fished the sierras growing up in the central valley of California. I've lived in San Jose for over 25 years and joined Flycasters about 4 years ago to improve my skills and meet other people. As a club and board member, I hope to encourage younger members to participate with fishouts that are relatively close to home in the central sierras as well as provide an element of adventure

I grew up in NY and have always liked to fish, but didn't start fly fishing until around 2002 when I caught the movie "A River Runs Through It". That week I learned of the San Jose Fly Shop and decided to go check it out. I took the beginners fly fishing university class and the rest is history. I enjoy all types of fly fishing, from the beach to casting to tuna offshore, to bass ponds, to high mountain rivers for trout, but one of my favorites is snowy days on rivers looking for Steelhead.
