At the August Meeting Chris Parsons will be presenting a program on “Flyfishing the Fall River”. Chris will share secrets, tips and techniques on fishing this unique Northern California water.
Chris is a full time fly fishing guide working for The Fly Shop in Redding California. He started guiding the Lower Sacramento back in 2003. Now in 2011, his portfolio of waters includes the Trinity River, Fall River, the Upper Sacramento River, McCloud River, Pit River and the Klamath River. Most of his year long season is divided up between the Lower Sacramento, Trinity and Fall River.
Chris is committed to guiding. With a philosophy of “it’s my guest’s day to fish, not mine”. He feels very fortunate to be able to make his living spending time outside, showing fly fisher-people the rivers and lakes of Northern California. His history with fishing is scattered among summers spent camping with his Dad, hiking and climbing in Wyoming, Montana, exploring river mouths in between surf sessions along the Pacific coast. Trout fishing has always chased him down. While climbing and hiking in the mountains, he fished, while visiting Redding, he fished, while traveling to and from “the too many places to list”, he fished. Fishing was something to do. It was, and is, fun.
