New Start Time! Now 9AM!
Just like learning to enjoy smooth reposado tequila, sipping it slowly and enjoying both the taste and the experience - casting bamboo and fiberglass fly rods makes it a pleasure to slow down and re-learn the casting stroke. Appreciating the experience of casting classic fly rods is the goal of Flycasters' GRASS & GLASS Cast o'Rama.
Saturday, October 20th, 9:00am to 1:00pm Flycasters Dennis Buranek, Tom Key, John Luis, and Luke Sing will bring along a number of bamboo and fiberlglass fly rods to demonstrate the elegance of fly rods that have largely been replaced in the last 30 years by graphite.
After the demonstration members of Flycasters are invited to give these classic rods a cast of their own.
In addition to the casting the Flycasters team will be speaking about
- How bamboo and fiberglass rods were made
- How modern tools have refined these rods
- How to cast bamboo and fiberglass rods
- Feeling the fish vibes from slower rods
- Collecting older and classic fly rods
Join us at the Casting Ponds at the Los Gatos Creek Park - Saturday October 20th, 9:00am to 1:00pm
This is a FREE event for members of Flycasters, Inc
