HANDS ON CLASS – “LEARN TO FLY FISH CLASS, SUNDAY AUG. 10th

Lead Instructor: Ray Chin, Gold Level Caster - FFI Fly Cas:ng Skills Development Program

AUGUST 10th, 2024 from 8:15am to Noon

Location – CasFng Ponds - Los Gatos Creek Park

The “LEARN TO FLY FISH” is a program of HANDS-ON CLASSES that gives you the tools you need to successfully Fly Fish. The AUGUST 10th Sunday session is for those either relatively new to Fly Fishing or would like to gain more knowledge on fly fishing streams and rivers. We will review some basic nymph rigs and dry fly setups. You will learn the fundamentals of fly line loop formation. This is followed by learning and practicing some fundamental casts, such as the RollCast, needed for good presentations to fish under different stream conditions. We will learn how to mend your line to improve your fly presentation and catch fish others miss. “Reading the Water” will be covered so you can locate fish without a guide. You will learn which type of flies to choose in the insect lifecycle as conditions change. This will be followed by how to hook, fight and release fish. Class is limited to 12 people to encourage high levels of interaction. So please sign up early.

Frank Eldredge and Lilip Lau will be co-instructors. The instructors have

20+ years each of Fly Fishing experience. Class will be held on Sunday August 7th from 8:15am

to noon. Any questions, please contact Ray Chin at yosemiteraychin@yahoo.com or text Ray at
