Our fly fishing club is indebted to the acclaimed photographer Val Atkinson for allowing us to use the stunning images shown below in the slideshow.  Val is the master of capturing with a camera the tranquility and sublime beauty of the rivers in northern California that our members count among their favorite places to fly fish.

You can view the complete set of photos in this series, called "5 Rivers in Northern California," and many of Val's other images, by going to his website: Val Atkinson's Website   Many of his images are available for purchase.

CASTING CLINIC
Accuracy, Distance, & Shooting head

Presented by Tony Yap

Saturday September 6

9:30 am – 11:30 am

Los Gatos Creek Park Casting Ponds

The key to success in fly fishing is accuracy and distance– Tony will be focusing on both. If you want extra distance then shooting head is the answer. Tony will share his technique for achieving maximum distance as well as accuracy.

Bring your favorite fly rod. Anything between 5 and 10 weight, with a reel and weight forward floating line, appropriate leader and tippet and some yarn (no hooks).

Bring a notebook and pen to take notes. Use a camera or phone to record video.

Be sure to bring protective eyewear. Sunglasses or eyeglasses - as long as they cover your eyes. This is a requirement; without eye protection you cannot attend the clinic.

and like Tony says … BRING AN OPEN MIND!!

Clinic is FREE for members of Flycasters.*Parking at the ponds is $6 - payable at the kiosk - they do ticket non-payers.
